TRAIL WALKTHROUGH: This hike is approximately 10 miles, round-trip. With an elevation gain between 950-1400 ft, we will cross the river a total of 12 times. The river is about 3 1/2 ft deep and 20ft wide, with the water running fast and cold. Along the way, we will get to see the famous Swan Rock. Our goal will be to reach the bridge which was built in 1930 as a connector from the San Gabriel Valley to Wrightwood.

Intermediate 3
These hikes are a step up from Intermediate 2 and can vary from 8-10 miles in length and done at a more moderate pace. In addition to the length, hikers should be prepared for potentially difficult terrain, possibly with the need to use hands to keep balance. As well, additional factors such as trailblazing, exploration, inclement weather, and crossing heavy streams may be a part of these types of hikes.

MY FRIEND SAID I COULD DO THIS HIKE; I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT, RIGHT:
Contrary to popular belief, you know your body and hiKing experience better than your friends. Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced hiker, please read our hike details page, as the hiKe may not suite your experience level. We will have a better experience if every hiKe has hiKers of the intended level.

If you do not have a smart phone or are not on Facebook, it is your responsibility to gain access to the event page on Facebook, at least the night before or morning of, and check if any UPDATES have been made.
